I completed nano this year with a total of 53,329 words writing not a novel but as a nano rebel, an official group on the official nano website. I didn’t bother to post anything yesterday as I had a luncheon to attend and then I worked in the afternoon and was held an hour over. I did buy a few groceries and came back home.
Writing something was the last thing on my mind. If I was short on words, I probably would have stayed up till midnight if needed getting the job done, but since I already had my words in, I called it quits.
I will try to make some of my posts on bubblews available to any that would like to check them out, but instead of linking them here, I will put them on my other blog that I mentioned last week. That will be http://www.muchadoaboutfreelancing.wordpress.com.
Of course, you can also go to my profile and read whatever article that you’d like directly on bubblews. The link is on the first post I wrote for this year, and I will make it available again on my freelancing blog in the next few days.
I got my remaining words in for nano during the first post of the day today. That means I’ve already written 50,000 words. As many already know, I’m not writing a novel, but I ‘m using all the words I’ve written on Bubblews toward my word count, that means that I’m one of many nano rebels. I’m still going to continue to count the words I write the rest of the week and see how much higher I get that the goal.
Last night I tried for the upteenth time to log into the official nano site and I don’t remember my password. I tried to have it sent to my email address, but it never came through. I don’t know if the glitch is on the nano end or on my email server end. If needed I suppose I can start up a new account one more time.
My two posts for today so far are:
Total today is 1585 words
I did somewhat better in writing than I did Thursday, but even though I did plan on putting my links to my posts here that night, I was in the middle of something and forgot all about it until I had barely enough time to even decide what I should do.
Total for this day is 1753 Well that total helps some for last nights lack.
Today was a busy day as we went about half an hour away to do one job for windows and we did another one that was a bit closer, and a smaller one too. When I have to drive so much, it whips me out, but I stayed up anyway to get some writing in before bedtime.
I’m starting something new with my posts. Bubblews has increased the categories we can use for our writing and I’m putting my archives altogether into several posts, one post for each category and then linking each article that fits that category to it. Some may over lap and it will take a while to compile it, but as I write new articles I can put them in right away which will save time.
1020 words total for the day
Well today was a different sort of day entirely. I switched shifts with someone from work and ended up working a seven hour shift, but didn’t get much done at home because of it.
I was going to post at least four items tonight, but the bubblews web site is undergoing updates and it’s running slow, so I only got two in.
Total for today 1618 words
I almost thought I was going to have to turn my computer off tonight because of the heavy winds and tundershowers we had earlier this evening. I’m glad it blew over and it’s been windy ever since, but no more thundershowers or lightening.
I did much better tonight with posting. The last three days I only did one post per day, but today, I was able to get six of them done. I’d like to do one more, but then I wouldn’t have time to get them linked in here and the other place that I make the link available.
3138 words on each of these links plus 112 on this post here, totalling 3250
Again today I only wrote one post. Since today was the beginning of deer season for rifles, it was still busy at work and most of us got held, so I didn’t have enough time to get much done after work, nor was I really in the mood regardless what I said earlier today.
I’m not doing all that bad though, since I have around 54% written already and only have two more weeks left.
If you are looking for a great place to make money with your writing, bubblews.com is a place you should check out.
I was a writer several years ago on ehow.com and made about $125.00 in one year and a half. On bubblews, I have made over two hundred dollars in just three short months. I could have done better than that, but there were some days when i didn’t do much as I was reading a few good books, plus I work two jobs and I don’t have the time to devote to the site like others there do.
You can write up to ten posts per day about your world and you get paid a penny for every unique like, comment and view of your post. That means if I comment two times on one post, you will get paid once for the comment and once for the view, but if I comment on two posts of yours then you will get a penny for each post that I view and each comment that I make.
If you are doing nano, and you choose to put portions of your writing on there, you will get paid for doing so, but you can’t post the same material elsewhere at the same time.
Sometime in the past when learning how wordpress works, either the site or someone that I was following at the time suggested that instead of editing blog posts that we write a brand new one each time or leave it in the draft mode until it is completely complete.
Do you all feel the same way? I would rather edit my post and add new links each time I post something new on Bubblews rather than begin a new post each time. That way I can see at a glance how many articles I wrote each day and how many words were written on each and total for each day.
Whether you get notification of the same one being edited, or a new one being posted I don’t see where it makes much difference either way.
For most people what comes next after nano is revision, revision, revision. That may include many things. For my friend in Washington state it might mean determining where one book ends and the next begins for she has been working on three in her series; all of them started during nano.
She also has to see where all the chapters will fit. I think she did better this year, although in the past she has lost oodles of information when she was in the middle of revision when her computer was acting up.
For me, I haven’t worked on revising either of the novels I worked on during nano, although I hope to do so sometime in the future. This year, I have nothing to revise since I took a conglomeration of words for my total count. Granted they were all words put together into sentences for a purpose at the time, usually as I was chatting to one group or another, along with my posts in my many blogs and other things I wrote.
Some of the people that are members of the writing web site are joining a blogging challenge to keep up their desire to write something daily. I did consider joining that myself, but recently decided that wouldn’t be the best for my life right now.
Before I continue with some of what I want to share in this post, I will say that I only intended for this blog to be written during the current nano and maybe save further posts for the nano’s in the years to come. Even if I choose to work on another novel, I could post a little bit here just to keep everyone informed.
So, when this years nano is over I don’t plan on posting anything new here until next years nano begins. If you wonder what I’m up to please feel free to check out any of my other blogs which are all listed on November 15th’s post. That is titled my other word press blogs. I had two posts dated that day, this was the first of the two.
After nano, and then later on this winter when I have more of my bookkeeping caught up, I hope to visit more of your blogs and strike up a conversation.
I decided rather than me worrying about posting every day elsewhere for December, that I need to get going on the bookkeeping for my business as I am behind. I think everything is done until around June or July-my daughter helped me get that far, but nothing much has been done since then.
I still want to write post on most of my blogs, but I won’t have to think about writing 1666 words per day and that should be refreshing. My goal will be to post in each of my blogs at least once ever other week for starters and then once I get caught up at home, maybe I will be able to have time and find things to talk about even more often than that.
I know some of the things I want to discuss will take some researching, whereas other posts will be off the cuff. The ones that I need to research will of course take away precious time and mean I won’t be writing that much then, but when the research is done hopefully I’ll be able to put together a decent post that I may be able to use in a different way later. Or I may decided to save it as an article and put just a small section here to whet your appetite for more.
This post has 606 words and any writing I do after work will not be added to this count as I’m putting it on the official site now.
